Maintenance Technician

Role and Responsibilities:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing maintenance and repair tasks across multiple Planet Fitness club locations to ensure safety, functionality, and a top-notch member experience. You will handle general maintenance duties, coordinate with leadership on maintenance needs, manage inventory, and ensure timely repairs and inspections.
• Perform HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, and general building repairs
• Inspect and maintain gym amenities and equipment (e.g., cardio, strength, showers, toilets)
• Conduct regular club inspections and resolve facility issues
• Coordinate with Facilities Manager and Ops teams to identify repair priorities
• Implement and document preventative maintenance tasks using CMMS (iPad/device)
• Manage parts/supplies inventory and purchasing
• Maintain maintenance logs and related documentation
• Assist with new club openings and renovations
• Represent the company professionally and adhere to dress code
• Maintain consistent communication (check/respond to email daily)
• Respond promptly to emergencies following safety protocols
• Manage vendor/service provider relationships
Required Skills and Experience:
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum 5 years of general maintenance experience (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC)
• Certificate in HVAC or building maintenance technology is a plus
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between clubs
• Knowledge of maintenance equipment/tools, construction/project management, safety principles, and local codes
• Proficiency with computer applications (e.g., MS Office, CMMS)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
• Professionalism, tact, reliability, and integrity
• Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, and lift up to 80 lbs
• Ability to operate tools/equipment, push/pull heavy loads, and climb ladders
• Capability to work in varying environmental conditions (hot, cold, dusty, noisy)
• Comfortable with indoor and outdoor field work across multiple sites
• Willingness to work around mechanical/electrical equipment and environmental hazards
• Ability to manage extensive driving between locations
• Must be 18 years or older
• Participation in E-Verify required for all Utah locations
