Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive IT & Security Director to oversee and manage all aspects of our internal IT infrastructure, networking, system configurations, software, hardware, security, and compliance operations. This role is critical to maintaining optimal network performance, ensuring the security of company data and systems, and driving compliance with the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) standards. Key responsibilities of this role include IT operations and support, system configuration and monitoring, security management, network performance and optimization, and compliance and CMMC oversight.

In order to do this job well, you have deep troubleshooting and diagnostic ability for networking and systems, strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, especially NIST 800-171, and can clearly explain complex IT and security issues to non-technical staff and leadership. You are detail-oriented and know that precision matters in compliance, configuration, and security.

This role is a full-time position located out of our office in Arlington, VA.

Scope of Responsibilities
• Manage all aspects of internal IT infrastructure to support Govini employees, to ensure a highly performant and secure employee experience
• Own all internal internet and networking, including managing third parties, issue resolution, monitoring, system configurations, software and hardware, security, and network performance
• Own end-to-end planning and execution of IT initiatives
• Ensure the protection of sensitive data through access controls, encryption, and other security best practices; monitor and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities
• Communicate with staff regarding system updates; train accordingly to adhere to security standards
• Provide technical support and guidance to staff on IT-related issues
• Triage and resolve day-to-day IT-related support issues in a 24/5 environment
• Lead and manage efforts to achieve and maintain CMMC compliance, inclusive of documentation and ongoing training of Govini staff
• Coordinate audits and assessments, ensuring all compliance requirements are met
• Work with cross-functional departments to establish scalable processes for procuring, imaging, and provisioning laptops
• Manage and automate operating system upgrades; ensure 100% compliance of all necessary upgrades and security software scans
• Manage the ordering of new employee equipment and configuration in collaboration with the Operations team
• Manage the provisioning of building access cards

Qualifications
• U.S. Citizenship is required

Required Skills
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in IT management and cybersecurity
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols, hardware, and software systems
• Hands-on experience with system administration, security tools, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems
• Deep familiarity with CMMC standards and compliance requirements and NIST 800-171 compliance requirements
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, CCNA)
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills
• Capable of translating complex IT and security concepts for non-technical audiences
• Detail-oriented, especially in areas of compliance, security, and configuration management
• Experience with Mac OS and Apple hardware provisioning and support

Desired Skills
• Experience in or exposure to the nuances of a startup or other entrepreneurial environment
• Experience managing third party vendors
• Experience supporting a prior CMMC implementation
