Light Gauge MIG Welder

Hagerstown, MD

We are seeking an experienced LIGHT GAUGE MIG WELDER to join our team. Will work in the warehouse in assembly of hollow metal frames according to Division 8 specifications. Must be available to work Monday – Friday, 6:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. and travel to the client’s site when required. Occasional overtime may be required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

 Must have experience reading and interpreting shop drawings. Must be skilled at using measuring tools and templates to ensure accurate installations, reading factory orders and code sheets and understanding how the final product should look.

 Work accuracy and attention to detail is critical to this role: Must be able to make clean lines and cuts when welding to produce a quality product and avoid re‐work and allocation of additional resources. Must be able to examine frames for defects and measure work pieces to ensure conformance with client’s specifications.

 Must be able to recognize flaws in welds or structural imperfections in the metal

 Must have experience using hand tools to include drills, impact drivers and other hand tools. Will operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade such as gas shield arc welding equipment.

 Will layout, position, align and secure parts and assembles prior to assembly.

 Will travel to our customer site to, deliver products and to complete occasional installs.

 Must have excellent customer relations skills, oral and written communication skills.

 Must be organized and able to timely submit jobsite tickets validating the work completed

 Must be able to work safely.

 Background check for government clearance required for work performed at school locations and government sites where clearances are required.

 Must be able to safely operate a company vehicle. A valid driver’s license is required. Motor vehicle record check required.

Physical Demands & Abilities

Must be able to lift up to a maximum of 50lbs

Must have arm‐hand steadiness, near vision, control precision, manual and finger dexterity, and mult‐limb coordination

Must be able to stand up to 8 hours each day

Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive to the client’s site.

Education & Experience Required A minimum of 3‐5 years’ experience MIG welding light gauge metal is required.
