Goldbelt Integrated Logistics Services (GbILS) provides four specific areas of expertise—Logistics Engineering, Measurement Sciences, Program Management, and Technical Support—serving the scientific, technical, and engineering needs of clients. GbILS values its innovative thinking and service-oriented team who provide services for a variety of federal government and commercial clients.

Summary

The Program Manager-Senior Scientist will work with a holistic commitment to providing integrated services in support of the transition of satellite data from research to operational products, making satellite data useful to the end users.

The role of Coast Watch is to maintain, sustain, and enhance present operational capabilities with respect to ongoing improvements in the scientific development and utilization of improved, new and emerging satellite products, and services, and engage in the broader context of the evolution of operational satellite oceanography.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions

  • Plan and coordinate the execution of the tasks within the Coast Watch contract team
  • Ensure adherence to delivery schedules, and (if needed on rare occasions) communicate and develop contingency plans as necessary given the team’s workload
  • Deliver timely regular reports, including periodic reporting of milestones to STAR and NESDIS management as well as program sponsors
  • Conduct monthly contract performance meetings with the Contract Office Representative (COR)and the Coast Watch federal program manager
  • Coordinate openly and continuously between contractor and government

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Solid client service, time management and leadership skills as well as written and verbal communication skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in science and/or technology fields
  • Experience working with the federal government as project manager. Formal project management credentials are valued
  • Experience interacting with, and leading a team of data scientists, cloud and AI practitioners, researchers, ensuring results

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher-level education and knowledge of and practical experience in ocean remote sensing

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $155,000 - $165,000 annually.
