With a mission to overcome the limitations of traditional silicon, CDimension partners with leading researchers and industry pioneers to build the foundation for future computing advancements.

Role Summary

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with strong experience in facility/transfer chambers setup and process module (CVD/MOCVD) design. You will lead the mechanical design and optimization of our MOCVD reactor chambers, working closely with process engineers and scientists to translate process requirements into process modules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, model, and iterate on CVD/MOCVD chamber geometries using CAD tools (SolidWorks or equivalent)
  • Designs components using variety of metals, ceramics, quartz, and advanced coatings for 2D material growth.
  • Conduct detailed analysis including structural, element analysis, thermal, heat transfer, stress, vibrations, fluid and gas flow dynamics, and manufacturability to properly specify designs.
  • Coordinate with vendors and machinists for prototyping and fabrication.
  • Collaborate with process engineers to align chamber design with thin-film deposition uniform (WiW/WtW Nu%) and growth quality requirements.
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation, drawings, and BOMs.
  • Support system integration and troubleshoot mechanical issues during installation and operation.

Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in vacuum chamber or CVD/MOCVD system design
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and FEA tools
  • Familiarity with vacuum systems, high-temperature materials, and semiconductor processing environments
  • Experience working with precision machining vendors and managing fabrication cycles
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment

Nice to have

  • Experience with MOCVD or ALD systems
  • Familiarity with 2D materials or thin film deposition processes
  • Background in CFD-informed design for gas flow and thermal uniformity
