Key Responsibilities

  • Execute welding tasks on ship structures, decks, bulkheads, and other components using MIG, TIG, and Arc welding techniques.
  • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications accurately.
  • Ensure all welds meet structural and safety standards, following company and industry codes.
  • Maintain welding equipment and perform routine inspections to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and engineers to achieve project goals and timelines.
  • Conduct quality checks and document work for compliance and reporting purposes.
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Identify welding defects, propose corrective actions, and implement repair solutions efficiently.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven expertise in MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-Cored welding techniques.
  • Strong understanding of metal fabrication, marine materials, and shipbuilding processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.

  • Physical stamina and dexterity for working in challenging shipyard environments.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional welding experience in shipbuilding, heavy fabrication, or marine construction.

  • Full-time position; standard shipyard shifts with potential overtime during project deadlines.
  • Flexibility to work in varying schedules including early mornings or weekends as required by project timelines.
