Why Join The Team?
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Junior Accountant/Financial Analyst to support our manufacturing and operations teams. This role will report to the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis and partner closely with Finance, Production, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver accurate financial reporting, support budgeting and forecasting processes, and provide insights that drive business performance. The ideal candidate has strong analytical capabilities, experience in a manufacturing environment, and the ability to translate operational data into meaningful financial insights.
This is a full-time, on-site position from Monday to Friday with flexible hours, based in Enfield, Nova Scotia.
What will your day-to-day look like?
Work in collaboration with the production teams and the manufacturing leadership teams in an office and shop environment.
Support the Finance and Business teams on various ad hoc requests.
Prepare and post journal entries (JEs), including SRR, capital, and other transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Prepare monthly financial reports, including Scrap Repair & Rework (SRR) analysis with breakdowns and provide clear variance commentary.
Support in the annual Budget process by gathering and organizing and analyzing data for various budget proposals.
Assist with forecasting and long-range planning (LRP), including depreciation simulations, business cases, and financial modeling.
Support audits and compliance requirements by providing necessary documentation and insights.
Utilizing Business warehouse, Excel and PBI, for the development and enhancement of financial reports, dashboards, and forecasting tools to improve visibility and decision-making.
What do you need to be successful?
Bachelor’s degree in Business
3+ years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in a manufacturing or operations environment
Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, BW)
Advanced Excel skills and strong data analysis capabilities
Understanding of cost accounting, capital accounting, and inventory processes
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Ability to communicate financial concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders
Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Continuous improvement mindset with an interest in automation and process enhancement
