Head of IT Applications

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of IT Applications to lead our applications management function in Lusail, Qatar. In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee the entire IT applications portfolio, driving digital transformation initiatives and ensuring alignment with organizational business objectives. You will manage a talented team of IT professionals while optimizing application performance, managing vendor relationships, and implementing innovative technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency across the organization.

• Develop and execute a comprehensive IT applications strategy that aligns with organizational goals and supports business growth initiatives
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of applications professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence
• Oversee the full lifecycle of enterprise applications, including planning, implementation, maintenance, and optimization
• Analyze current application portfolio and identify opportunities for modernization, consolidation, and cost optimization
• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure optimal service delivery and value for money
• Establish and enforce IT governance frameworks, policies, and standards for application development and deployment
• Direct digital transformation projects and ensure successful adoption of new technologies across the organization
• Monitor application performance metrics and implement improvements to enhance system reliability and user satisfaction
• Prepare and manage IT applications budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost control
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices to maintain competitive advantage

**Required Qualifications:**

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field
• Minimum 10 years of experience in IT applications management and enterprise systems
• Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience managing IT teams and departments
• Proven expertise in enterprise application portfolio management and IT service delivery
• Strong knowledge of ERP systems, CRM platforms, and cloud-based technologies
• Demonstrated experience with digital transformation initiatives and organizational change management
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions
• Strong project management capabilities with experience delivering complex IT initiatives
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
• Proficiency in IT governance frameworks and best practices

**Preferred Qualifications:**

• Project Management Professional (PMP) or ITIL certification
• Experience with IT financial management and budget optimization
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and application security best practices
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies and DevOps practices
• Experience in a multinational or global organization
• Background in business process optimization and systems integration
