Videographer & Video Editor (Independent Contractor – 1099)

Overview

HVH Media & Marketing is seeking a skilled Videographer & Video Editor to support ongoing client projects on a contract basis. This role is ideal for a creative professional who operates independently and is responsible for delivering high-quality video content aligned with project objectives.

Scope of Services

The Independent Contractor may provide services including, but not limited to:

• Capture of video content for client projects (on-location or remote as applicable)
• Editing of short-form and long-form video content (social media reels, brand videos, educational content)
• Color correction, audio enhancement, and light motion graphics
• Organizing raw footage and delivering final assets per project specifications

Project Structure

• Engagement is project-based and assigned on an ongoing basis based on client needs
• While project volume may support approximately 20–30 hours per week, no minimum number of hours is guaranteed
• Contractor retains full discretion over how and when services are performed, provided deadlines are met
• Contractor may accept or decline individual projects

On-Site Content Capture & Editing Expectations

• Certain projects will require the Contractor to capture video content on-site at client locations within the Phoenix metro area
• On-site content capture sessions are typically 2–3 hours in duration per project, and are scheduled in advance based on client availability and project needs
• Contractor retains the ability to accept or decline individual shoot opportunities, and is expected to communicate availability in a timely manner
• Following content capture, the Contractor will be responsible for:
• Editing footage into short-form video content (reels, TikToks, and social media assets)
• Delivering edited content aligned with brand guidelines and platform best practices
• Organizing and submitting final deliverables per project specifications

Compensation

• Compensation begins at $25 per hour+ and is negotiable, with opportunities for increases based on experience, efficiency, and quality of work
• Hours are tracked and invoiced by the Contractor based on completed project work
• Payment terms will be defined in the Independent Contractor Agreement

Independent Contractor Relationship

• This is a non-exclusive, independent contractor relationship, not employment
• Contractor is responsible for their own:
• Equipment and tools (camera, lighting, editing software, etc.)
• Schedule and workflow
• Taxes, insurance, and business expenses
• Contractor is free to provide services to other clients and businesses

Deliverables & Expectations

• Deliver high-quality, on-brand video content
• Meet agreed-upon deadlines for each project
• Communicate proactively regarding timelines, revisions, and project needs
• Execute work with a high level of autonomy and professionalism

Qualifications (Preferred)

• Proven experience in videography and video editing
• Strong understanding of social media content, especially short-form video
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar software
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently
