Transportation Analyst

Job Description:

The Transportation Analyst provides support to the RaceTrac Distribution team responsible for supplying in-store merchandise to all RaceTrac stores. This individual carries out day-to-day and analytical functions as needed as well as system and reporting to directly support the Transportation Manager and the Supply Chain team. The Transportation Analyst collaborates with cross functional departments including Accounting, Construction, Environmental, and Operations to gather information and create the appropriate reports to be distributed.

What You'll Do: 

• Generates, distributes, and maintains the reporting for several functions, including but not limited to load coordinating, service failures, dedicated and contracted carrier score cards and invoicing.

• Serves as the liaison between transportation within RaceTrac Distribution and other departments across the RaceTrac organization, including accounting, construction, environmental, and operations.

• Analyzes and processes invoices using an ERP system.

• Develops and maintains documentation for new and existing standard operating procedures.

• Coordinates with carriers to support contract compliance and on-time service.

• Sources new carriers to expand carrier base.

• Analyzes freight rates and makes recommendations.

• Analyzes and interprets relevant data to make recommendations to improve Transportation.

• Conducts ad hoc shipments/assignments as needed.

• Communicates with carriers to help facilitate deliveries to stores at the most cost-effective price.

• Ensures that carriers have the correct loading information at each distribution center.

• Establishes and maintains strong internal and external relationships.

• Supports Transportation Manager and Supply Chain Team including day-to-day coverage and additional projects.

What We're Looking For: 

• 1-2 years' professional experience with transportation/logistics analytics, or related field required.

• Proficient in MS Office Suite; Especially Excel and Word required.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

• Direct experience in analytics, coordinating, or a related role highly preferred.

• Ability to use a WMS, TMS and ERP system preferred.

• Intermediate skill in Power Bi preferred.
