Senior Electrical Engineer for Transportation Projects

GFT is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer for Transportation Projects to join our dedicated Electrical Practice. This position is structured as a hybrid work model requiring regular attendance at our office located in the Mid Atlantic to Northeast region. Some office locations include:

GFT has established itself as a leader in public transit and transportation, focusing on the rehabilitation and design of transit facilities, including stations, vehicle and train maintenance facilities, and maintenance-of-way structures.

Your Responsibilities

• Engage in diverse roadway transportation and transit projects from condition assessment to design and construction support.
• Collaborate with clients to offer innovative solutions for transportation challenges.
• Mentor and guide team members through complex engineering problems.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Participating in and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Owning project management and technical design, including report development.
• Providing expert engineering insights into technical design and evaluations.
• Acting as the main contact for clients during progress meetings and report generation.

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Over eight (8+) years of progressive experience in engineering design, inspection, and construction support.
• A Professional Engineer License is a plus.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Preferred Skills

• A strong portfolio in transportation engineering projects, with design-build experience being advantageous.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $115,000 - $150,000 (USD), depending on experience and geographic location.
