Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Note: This is NOT a software quality assurance (SQA) tester position. Candidates MUST possess strong programming skills, typically in languages such as C#, .Net, Java, or Python.

• Design and implement comprehensive test plans, test cases, and procedures to ensure all systems, products, and services meet organizational standards and user requirements.
• Create test schedules and strategies tailored to project needs.
• Write test scripts and identify relevant data for test scenarios.
• Conduct reviews of test cases/scripts with stakeholders including Test Managers, Requirement Leads, Project Managers, and Development Leads.
• Lead testing efforts on software and IT systems to verify proper functioning and identify defects.
• Perform verification activities using established methods and criteria in a controlled environment.
• Document and communicate testing outcomes effectively.
• Assist in analyzing test results and troubleshooting any open issues.
• Identify and resolve complex challenges to ensure project success.
• Monitor and report progress on issue resolution to management.
• Propose enhancements to existing procedures and design potential future configurations.
• Create daily metrics and reports on test progress.
• Occasionally participate in other IT systems engineering activities like design and support.
• Utilize technical principles and theories effectively in your field.
• Set objectives and goals for assigned projects, measuring achievement accordingly.
• Guide team members in alignment with established policies.
• Deliver solutions to complex problems requiring thorough analysis of diverse factors.
• Contribute to specific projects, ensuring high-quality collaboration with teams.
• Maintain frequent contact with inter-organizational and external clients.
• Act as a representative for providing solutions on intricate technical issues.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proficient in programming languages such as C#, Java, or Python.
• A proven history of contributing to complex software projects and ensuring top-notch deliverables.
• Experience in both manual and automated testing methodologies.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum frameworks and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Strong proficiency in developing and executing test cases, scripts, and plans.
• Solid understanding of test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, LoadRunner).
• Experience using continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools (e.g., GitHub Actions).
• Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git, Subversion).
• Insight into performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling).
• Effective use of defect tracking and management tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).
• Competence in database skills and SQL for data validation.
• Experience in testing web applications, APIs, and services.
• Awareness of security testing practices and tools.
• Experience across various testing types, including functional, regression, integration, system, usability, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to high-quality outcomes.
• Capacity to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
• Ability to mentor and support junior testers.
• Skill in translating business requirements into effective test scenarios.
• Experience with test management tools.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
• Ability to conduct test reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• A solid grounding in risk-based testing, exploratory testing, and context-driven testing.

Professional Certifications

• Advanced certifications in testing or quality assurance (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE, CSQA).

Years of Professional Experience

10 or more years of total work experience, with at least 10 years focused on software testing and quality assurance.

Desired Experience

• Familiarity with Electronic Data Interchange X.12 (EDI) Medical Claims (e.g., 837, 834, 277).

Formal Education

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is required along with 10 or more years of experience.
