As an Occupational Therapist at Rebecca School, you’ll help students with neurodevelopmental differences strengthen the skills that support learning, independence, and emotional growth. Using the DIRFloortime® model, you’ll design and deliver therapy that fosters regulation, sensory integration, and engagement, partnering closely with teachers, counselors, and families to help each student reach their fullest potential in a nurturing, collaborative environment.
What You’ll Need
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current New York State license to practice Occupational Therapy
- Experience working with children or young adults; pediatric background preferred
- Knowledge of or interest in the DIRFloortime® approach
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
What You’ll Do
- Provide individual and group occupational therapy sessions to address sensory motor, emotional, and functional goals
- Conduct evaluations and assessments to determine needs and guide treatment planning
- Document progress through session notes, progress reports, and treatment summaries
- Partner with educational teams to develop sensory diets, classroom strategies, and recommendations that enhance student participation
- Support team members by modeling and training appropriate therapeutic techniques and adaptations
