Job description

PRODUCT MANAGER LEAD, FRONT END

San Francisco, CA

At Rothy’s, we know there’s a better way to do business, and it starts by putting the planet and its people first. More than 200 million single-use plastic bottles and 715,000 pounds of ocean-bound marine plastic have been transformed into our signature thread, creating wardrobe staples that look just as good as they feel.

Striving for zero waste, we combine 3D knitting technology and handcrafted assembly to create machine washable styles that don’t compromise on comfort. From classic shoes to carry-everywhere bags, we create essentials for wherever you go.

At Rothy’s, building a sustainable future is at the heart of everything we do. We pride ourselves on fostering an inclusive environment at our HQ, retail stores and wholly-owned factory, and are growing our community every day.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Rothy’s is a well-oiled machine thanks to the expertise of our Digital Experience team. These whizzes keep all things tech-related ticking—both externally on our beautiful site and internally by providing essential IT assistance to all other departments. As a modern, fast-moving company, technology is part of everything we do—and we couldn’t do it without the brains behind the curtain.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Lead Product Manager (Director level) role sits at the center of our organization, connecting Engineering, Customer Experience (CX), Marketing, Retail, Wholesale, and business stakeholders to deliver impactful digital and omnichannel solutions. This leader will be responsible for building, mentoring, and guiding a team of Product Managers aligned to Ecommerce/Marketing, Retail, and Wholesale functions. The role requires a balance of strategic leadership and hands-on execution—setting vision and direction while ensuring delivery excellence. You will translate business objectives and customer insights into clear, actionable product strategies that drive measurable outcomes, and foster a collaborative, high-performing product organization in a fast-paced environment.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Define and own the product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap across Ecommerce/Marketing, Retail, and Wholesale domains, aligning with overall business goals and revenue targets
  • Build, lead, and mentor a team of Product Managers, providing guidance, coaching, and career development while establishing best practices across the function
  • Serve as the central leadership hub between Engineering, Customer Experience (CX), Marketing, Retail, Wholesale, and executive stakeholders to ensure alignment and execution
  • Oversee multiple cross-functional squads (engineering, UX/design, QA) embedded within business groups to deliver high-impact, scalable solutions
  • Guide the translation of business needs and customer insights into well-defined product requirements, user stories, and success metrics across teams
  • Establish prioritization frameworks to ensure initiatives are aligned to business value, customer impact, and technical feasibility
  • Drive end-to-end product delivery across teams—from discovery and planning through launch, optimization, and iteration
  • Partner closely with Marketing and Retail leaders to enhance digital customer journeys, in-store experiences, personalization, and conversion optimization
  • Leverage data, analytics, and experimentation frameworks to inform decision-making, measure product performance, and continuously improve outcomes
  • Act as the executive voice of the customer by ensuring feedback, usability insights, and market trends are embedded into product strategy
  • Ensure alignment across stakeholders through clear documentation, roadmaps, governance, and consistent communication cadences
  • Scale product management processes, tools, and operating models to support a growing, multi-domain product organization

YOU ARE

  • A strategic product leader who can connect company objectives to cohesive, cross-channel product strategies
  • An experienced people manager who enjoys building, mentoring, and scaling high-performing product teams
  • Highly collaborative, thriving at the intersection of technical, business, and customer-facing teams across multiple functions
  • Customer-obsessed, with strong intuition for user needs across digital and physical experiences
  • Data-driven, comfortable using metrics, experimentation, and insights to guide team and product decisions
  • An excellent communicator who can influence stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership
  • Organized and decisive, able to manage competing priorities across multiple domains and drive clarity in ambiguity
  • Technically fluent enough to partner effectively with engineering leadership on complex systems
  • Results-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and focus on business impact

YOU HAVE

  • 8+ years of product management experience, including experience leading or mentoring Product Managers
  • Proven experience owning product strategy across e-commerce, marketing technology, retail, or omni channel platforms
  • Strong track record of delivering customer-facing and operational products that drive measurable business impact
  • Experience managing and scaling cross-functional teams across engineering, UX/design, and QA
  • Deep familiarity with e-commerce platforms, CMS, CRM, marketing automation tools, and analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of customer journeys, conversion funnels, omnichannel experiences, and digital marketing ecosystems
  • Experience establishing product management best practices, including roadmapping, prioritization, and discovery frameworks
  • Expertise in writing and overseeing product requirements, user stories, and backlog management in tools like Jira, Asana, or similar
  • Comfort operating in Agile or Scrum environments at scale
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into strategic action
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (business, technology, or similar); MBA or equivalent experience is a plus
