Mō te tūranga | About the opportunity

We are looking for an experienced, passionate, and commercially astute Village Manager to lead and nurture our resident-focused and inclusive community in Waikanae on the Kapiti Coast.

Waikanae Lodge is a well-established provider of retirement living and care within the region, offering independent living in serviced apartments and villas alongside person-centered rest home and hospital level care in a sunny and secure environment. 

Supported by a great team, you will oversee the ongoing success of Waikanae Lodge including business planning and execution, team development, clinical care and resident wellness, maintenance, and overall performance. The Village Manager is also responsible for leading the sales function within the community, managing enquiries and the overall sales experience for potential residents and whanau.

Your commercial acumen, strong leadership skills, and continuous improvement mindset will continue to nourish a thriving business and community, and, at a minimum you will demonstrate:

  • At least 5 years' experience in a similar role (senior living experience preferred).
  • Ability to engage and foster relationships with prospective and established residents and ensure Arvida’s reputation is enhanced in the local community.
  • Experience in leading, coaching and developing people - fostering a values-led culture.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to deliver operational goals. 
  • Knowledge and experience of aged residential care preferred, or related health or social sector experience.
  • Understanding and application of relevant legislation.
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety management and safe working practices.
