Senior Splunk Specialist šŸ’° Salary: $160,000 - 180,000 per year

šŸ“ Rquirements

  • Minimum vetting Tier 5 (T5)-Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI)
  • Active DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 or Level 3 certification, including one of the following: CompTIA CISA+, CompTIA Security+, ISC2 CISSP, ISC2 CCSP, or ISC2 SSCP in good standing
  • Computing Environment Certification
  • Bachelors degree and over 10 years of experience in Information Technology or Cybersecurity
  • Expertise in Splunk and Splunk Enterprise Security with a proven track record in designing, configuring, deploying, monitoring, and optimizing log management in complex enterprise environments
  • Experience delivering Tier-3 cybersecurity support, resolving critical issues, mentoring junior staff, and conducting post-mortem analysis for continuous improvement
  • Solid understanding of IT operations requirements with the ability to deliver cyberhardening and security mandates without compromising system performance
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with government and contract leadership, as well as technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities
  • Exceptional analytical abilities, including qualitative and quantitative data analysis to support data-driven decisions on system threats and vulnerabilities
  • Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity policies and practices
  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Act as the Lead Splunk Engineer and Analyst
  • Oversee and manage the ongoing deployment, expansion, and daily upkeep of Security Information & Event Management (SIEM) operations
  • Ensure operational efficiency of Splunk servers, forwarders, indexers, and search heads
  • Conduct assessments and support system components in accordance with DISA STIGs, Security Requirements Guides (SRG), and relevant DoD directives
  • Develop use cases and dashboards based on requirements
  • Collaborate closely with the Incident Response team on incident and problem management for the SIEM infrastructure
  • Facilitate the integration of new data sources into the SIEM environment
  • Create detailed security design documentation for component and interface specifications to aid system development
  • Monitor and evaluate the logging security posture across the enterprise
  • Mentor analysts and engineers in Splunk technologies and components
  • Provide general technical cybersecurity support in areas such as vulnerability assessment, risk assessment, network security, and security implementation, including designing IS contingency plans and conducting testing and audits to assess current security measures
