Summary Stella Maris is proud to provide central Maryland with compassionate, hospice home care for adults. We specialize in hospice services that enable the patient to adapt and manage his or her medical condition in the comfort of their home. Stella Maris offers home hospice services to residents of Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Carroll County, Harford County and Howard County. We are currently recruiting for a Home Health Aide to provide care to patients in or considering our hospice program. This position will travel to patient’s homes in the Baltimore/Baltimore County area. Hospice Home Care Aide (CNA) Full-time Monday - Friday Responsibilities Assists patient with activities of daily living, to include bathing, mouth care, shampoo, shaving, transferring, repositioning, feeding, toileting, etc. Maintains clean and comfortable environment by changing bed linens and performing light housekeeping. Does client’s laundry and prepares meals. Maintains safe environment through use of bed rails, safety devices and proper placement of equipment. Performs nursing assistant duties, to include foley catheter care, enema, dressing changes and decubitus care, as instructed under the direction of a licensed professional nurse. Listens actively and encourages family members to verbalize feelings and concerns. Accurately records home health aide notes in medical records system. Requirements CNA License in Maryland High school diploma or equivalent required Successful completion of nursing assistant or Red Cross training course required; certification preferred. Minimum one-year experience in home care. Experience in hospice strongly preferred. Must have valid driver’s license, current insurance and own transportation.
