Portfolio Manager - DB Management

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Product Owner with strong experience in Database Technologies, Cloud Platforms, and Product Lifecycle Management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for owning and driving product vision, strategy, and execution for our cloud-based database services and managed solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the product roadmap for database and cloud data services aligned with strategic business goals.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and customers to understand requirements and translate them into actionable user stories and technical features.
• Lead end-to-end product lifecycle from ideation, planning, and development to delivery and support.
• Define and document use cases for database-managed services across specific industry verticals.
• Serve as the voice of the customer, ensuring delivery teams build products that maximize value and usability.
• Drive automation and innovation across the DB lifecycle to enhance efficiency and quality of service delivery.
• Work with cross-functional teams to define MVPs, product increments, and delivery timelines.
• Ensure resilience, replication, and recovery strategies for enterprise-grade databases (e.g., Oracle RAC, Oracle Data Guard, SQL AlwaysOn).
• Support pre-sales and solutioning efforts by providing technical insights and value proposition mapping.
• Maintain strong market awareness and integrate competitive intelligence into product planning.

Required Skills and Experience

• 5–6+ years of experience in product development, product management, marketing, or solution ownership.
• Strong technical foundation in Database Technologies: MS SQL, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB.
• Experience with Cloud Database Services: AWS Aurora, Snowflake, Oracle Cloud, Azure Cosmos DB, DynamoDB.
• Sound knowledge of Database Architecture, upgrades, patching, replication, and migration strategies.
• Familiarity with SSAS, SSRS, database sizing, and design principles.
• Experience with hybrid and hyperscale cloud platforms and managed DB services.
• Exposure to Monitoring tools, ITSM, Service Desk systems, and AI/ML operations transformation.
• Strong analytical and abstraction skills to simplify complex relationships and develop business-ready solutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Certifications in AWS, Azure, GCP, or relevant Database Technologies (preferred but not mandatory).
• Prior experience working in Agile product teams and using tools like JIRA, Confluence.
