Position Specific Summary

The Office of Emergency Management is seeking 2 students to assist the office with various projects and tasks. The office is responsible for coordinating emergency planning and training across the university and looking for assistance with project management, program development, and report writing in both areas. Depending on the student's interest this could include; community engagement, training development, planning, and organization. Plan development with stakeholders across the university to include continuity of Operations, Emergency Action Plans, and Mission package development. Tasks could also include social media development, after-action progress facilitation, report writing, and corrective action program facilitation. Special projects or other duties may be assigned related to specific departmental needs.

Standard Position Description

The student will assist in the management and leading of special projects. Tasks may include: leading and organizing mid to large scale projects, designing project timelines and goals, performing research, coordinating with stakeholders and the project team, reporting updates and outcomes with project leaders, building and organizing leadership development programs for students, managing student staff. Special projects or other duties may be assigned related to specific departmental needs.
