Job description
Job Description Join BAE Systems as a Senior Electrical Engineer, where your expertise will contribute to critical U.S. Navy weapon systems. This role involves supporting the Navy Program Manager in Strategic Systems Planning (SSP) Facilities Acquisition, focusing on the development of power systems for industrial facilities at TRIDENT Submarine Bases. Your efforts will help shape the integration of new facilities into existing power systems, ensuring our military capabilities remain top-tier.
You will be responsible for
- Creating single line diagrams and Bills of Materials for power systems.
- Conducting technical peer reviews and constructability reviews of design documentation.
- Leading the development of unique SSP facility requirements and testing criteria.
- Collaborating with subcontractors on scopes of work and power capacity assessments.
- Preparing comprehensive MILCON documentation, including DD1391 forms and cost estimates.
- Generating correspondence with stakeholders and addressing design/integration issues.
- Upholding safety standards and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
A limited amount of travel to support studies and design meetings may be required. Your management skills will also be essential in supporting tasks across disciplines.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET Accredited preferred) and at least two years of relevant experience.
- Experience with electrical power systems, including generators and substations.
- Knowledge of Load Flow Analysis, Short Circuit Studies, and Load Calculations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Skills Familiarity with electrical codes (NFPC, NEC) and Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) is a plus. Experience in preparation of RFP design packages and knowledge of ETAP® or SKM Software is advantageous.
