Job description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled MIG Welder to join our fabrication team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality welding operations on various metal components, primarily utilizing MIG welding techniques. This role requires a strong understanding of blueprint reading, fabrication processes, and safety standards within a construction or manufacturing environment. The successful applicant will contribute to the assembly and repair of metal structures, ensuring compliance with industry codes and standards, including ASME. Experience with sheet metal, pipe threading, plasma cutting, and power tools is highly desirable. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects requiring precision welding and mechanical knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding on a variety of materials including sheet metal, ductwork, and structural components in accordance with blueprints and schematics
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and welding symbols to ensure accurate fabrication
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as press brake machines and plasma cutters to shape and assemble metal parts
- Operate cranes, forklifts, and rigging equipment safely to move heavy materials and assemblies
- Measure dimensions precisely using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices to ensure proper fit and alignment
- Follow safety protocols related to welding operations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to OSHA standards
- Maintain a clean work environment by inspecting welds for quality and performing routine maintenance on tools and equipment
- Collaborate with team members on fabrication projects involving mechanical assembly, pipe threading, or machining tasks
- Ensure all work complies with industry standards such as ASME codes & standards
Qualifications
- Proven experience in MIG welding within construction site or manufacturing environments
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Skilled in TIG welding as well as FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding) techniques preferred
- Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication, ductwork assembly, and plasma cutting processes
- Knowledge of rigging, crane operation, forklift handling, and basic mechanical principles
- Experience working with hand tools, power tools, press brake machines, and machining equipment
- Strong understanding of ASME codes & standards related to welding and fabrication projects
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements and material estimations
- Mechanical knowledge related to pipe threading, soldering, assembly, and schematic interpretation is advantageous
- Construction site experience is a plus but not mandatory for qualified candidates willing to learn

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $24.00 per hour
