Job description
Join Oracle's Health Data Intelligence (HDI) team as a Senior Software Engineer and play a vital role in enhancing the reliability, scalability, and performance of our cutting-edge analytics platform. In this position, you will be instrumental in developing, maintaining, and optimizing the infrastructure and data pipelines that power healthcare analytics on a global scale.
U.S. citizenship is required for this position, as the successful candidate will need to obtain (and maintain) a U.S. government security clearance after hire.
Required Skills
- Infrastructure & Reliability: Proven experience in implementing and maintaining systems with high availability, focusing on performance monitoring and fault tolerance.
- Data Technologies: Expertise in Data Warehousing platforms (e.g., Vertica, Snowflake) and ETL frameworks, as well as understanding columnar storage and large-scale data processing.
- BI & Reporting: Practical experience with Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Oracle Analytics) to derive actionable insights from data.
- DevOps/SRE Practices: Proficient in CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Kubernetes), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
- Cloud Ecosystems: Experience in public cloud environments (OCI, AWS, or Azure) emphasizing deployment and resource management.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues with attention to detail.
- Programming & Tools: Strong skills in Python, Java, or Go, alongside experience with containerization (Docker) and shell scripting.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop & Maintain: Oversee the implementation and optimization of infrastructure components for the Oracle HDI Analytics Platform to ensure continuous system stability.
- Data Pipeline Execution: Design and enhance scalable data pipelines, utilizing Vertica and ETL processes for efficient data ingestion and transformation.
- BI Support: Facilitate the integration and optimization of BI and reporting tools to provide seamless data visualization for healthcare executives.
- Operational Excellence: Leverage DevOps and SRE principles to automate routine tasks, streamline deployments via CI/CD, and monitor system health using Prometheus/Grafana.
- Cloud Integration: Support platform-agnostic initiatives across Oracle Cloud and AWS for efficient resource management.
- Incident Response: Engage in on-call rotations and troubleshooting sessions to swiftly resolve production incidents and implement preventative measures.
- Collaboration: Work closely with senior engineers to execute technical roadmaps and provide peer reviews on code and infrastructure changes.
What You Bring
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years focused on cloud infrastructure, SRE, or DevOps.
- Demonstrated ownership of production system reliability and uptime within cloud environments.
- Strong expertise in:
- Cloud infrastructure design and automation
- Distributed systems and performance optimization
- Data warehousing and ETL frameworks
- Columnar databases (e.g., Vertica)
- Hands-on experience with:
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- Containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana)
- Experience integrating BI/reporting tools (Tableau, Power BI, Oracle Analytics, etc.)
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with a history of improving system reliability, automation, and scalability.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in healthcare or regulated environments (HIPAA, compliance frameworks) and familiarity with Oracle HDI or large-scale analytics platforms would be advantageous.

Salary Range: The hiring range is from $79,100 to $158,200 annually, and may include bonuses and equity.
