Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during various procedures, including chairside assisting, taking vital signs, and preparing dental materials.
  • Operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and medical imaging tools following strict infection control and aseptic techniques.
  • Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and updating medical records in EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and handling medical documentation with care.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays while maintaining proper safety protocols.
  • Support pediatric dentistry procedures by engaging young patients and understanding pediatric-specific dental terminology.
  • Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to infection control standards and anatomy knowledge requirements.
  • Handle administrative duties such as answering phones as a dental receptionist, managing medical records, coding procedures accurately, and coordinating with insurance providers.
  • Collaborate with the team on four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency during patient care.
  • Assist with general dentistry procedures, including prosthodontics and endodontics, ensuring optimal patient comfort and safety.

Experience

  • Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is required, demonstrating familiarity with dental assisting techniques and front desk responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is essential for managing patient data effectively.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques is mandatory to ensure compliance and safety.
  • Experience with X-ray procedures, medical imaging, 3D scanners, and medical documentation enhances your ability to support diverse dental treatments.
  • Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and terminology is highly desirable to cater to young patients effectively.
  • Strong understanding of dental terminology across specialties like prosthodontics and endodontics will support comprehensive patient care delivery.
