- Provide strategic direction to the IT Applications Development team, overseeing application design, software development, and integration.
- Set and prioritize goals aligned with the Software Engineering practice to drive excellence.
- Ensure your team adheres to best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Oversee hiring, performance management, and personnel decisions within the software engineering team.
- Enhance the software lifecycle by improving requirements quality and minimizing delays in design and development.
- Support multiple projects through effective staff management and shared services.
- Equip Software Engineers with the necessary tools and training to meet project demands.
- Lead day-to-day development while being engaged in design, architecture, and technical decision-making.
- Conduct regular code reviews to uphold engineering standards and maintain security practices.
- Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support to the development teams.
- Collaborate with architecture, QA, DevOps, security, and product teams to deliver high-quality software.
- Mentor and manage a team of developers, focusing on performance, coaching, and career growth.
- Foster a team culture centered on accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee development processes across various SDLC methodologies to meet enterprise governance and compliance requirements.
- Design and implement processes to boost predictability, velocity, and product quality.
- Ensure alignment with healthcare regulations and promote secure software development practices.
- Support audits and risk assessments in collaboration with compliance teams.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 7+ years of professional experience or equivalent.
- Experience managing software development teams and familiarity with multiple SDLC methodologies.
- A strong hands-on background in software development, coupled with leadership experience.
- Experience in delivering software in regulated environments and understanding healthcare compliance standards.
- Excellent technical judgment and the ability to guide engineers effectively.
- Outstanding communication skills for diverse stakeholders.
