Summary
Legends Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an immediate opening for a Police Chief for the BMO Center, Coronado Theatre, and Davis Park. The Police Chief is responsible for managing the department that ensures the safety of patrons, staff, vendors, and property. They are responsible for documenting any incidents on behalf of the police while working for Legends Global.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Scheduling the officers to meet our event-based calendar
- Manage the squad car maintenance for the Police Department
- Manage the ILETSB training certifications
- Submit the officers' semi-annual hours to ILETSB
- Manage the department accreditation
- Attend the Safety Committee meetings
- Work with local agencies to perform emergency drills training
- Perform security during events to ensure the safety of patrons, staff, vendors, participants, and others on premises
- Respond appropriately to any requests from building staff regarding disturbances
- Assist and handle any disturbances or problems that arise during events at either facility. If necessary, escort disruptive individual(s) to the designated area and/or off the premises.
- If an ejection is made, the necessary reports need to be completed to document the incident
- Assist with crowd control inside and outside the premises
- Maintain control and order during fire, storms, civil disturbances, and other emergencies
- Complete required reports and notifications in accordance with Legends Global policies and procedures
Qualifications
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience
- Must be an active or retired police officer
- Must be current on ILETSB Police Training and maintain certification
- Previous training on directing vehicle and pedestrian traffic
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to operate and effectively communicate on a radio
- Ability to handle conflicts, make common-sense decisions, and exercise proper judgment during high-tension and stressful situations
- Effective negotiation and mediation skills
- Ability to work well with other staff members in the facility, projecting a positive and professional image
- Strong customer service skills
- Maintain the highest standards of business ethics

Pay Information
$35/HR
This is a part-time non-exempt position working on an event-based schedule
