LTC IV Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Tech | Vinton, Virginia

This opportunity is for a Pharmacy Technician role supporting Long Term Care (LTC) and Mail Order pharmacy operations in Vinton, VA. The position offers a 13-week contract with potential for hire and features a rotating shift schedule to provide comprehensive pharmacy support in a dynamic environment.

Schedule

• Rotating shifts between 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM
• Standard shifts include: 7:00 AM 3:30 PM, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM, 10:00 AM 6:30 PM, 12:30 PM 9:00 PM
• Rotating weekend shifts from 8:00 AM 7:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Fill prescriptions and prepare intravenous (IV) admixtures in compliance with standards and regulations
• Collaborate with Billing Supervisor for data entry to process prescriptions and ensure reimbursement
• Work under Registered Pharmacist supervision to prepackage medications for dispensing
• Assist with the final check and packaging of prescriptions after pharmacist review
• Support inventory management including receiving, rotating stock, and recording lot numbers and expiration dates
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment; perform checks on equipment calibration, safety, and cleanliness

Qualifications

• Proven pharmacy technician experience required
• Prior Long Term Care pharmacy experience strongly preferred
• Experience with IV admixtures or sterile compounding considered a plus
• Valid Virginia Pharmacy Technician license mandatory
