Mail Order IV Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician in Roanoke, VA

This position offers an engaging role as a Pharmacy Technician working within a long-term care (LTC) mail order environment. The opportunity is a 13-week contract to hire, located in Roanoke, VA, featuring a rotating schedule to provide variety and flexibility throughout the workweek.

Schedule Highlights

• Rotating shifts: 7:00 am 3:30 pm | 8:00 am 4:30 pm |10:00 am 6:30 pm | 12:30 pm 9:00 pm
• Rotating weekends: 8:00 am 7:00 pm

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately fill prescriptions and prepare intravenous (IV) admixtures under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist.
• Collaborate with the Billing Supervisor to enter prescription data into computer systems for reimbursement processing.
• Assist Pharmacists in verifying and packaging medications for final review and ensure timely delivery to customers.
• Support Pharmacy Management by maintaining proper inventory control, including receiving, organizing, and rotating medications and supplies.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by checking and calibrating equipment alongside the Technician Supervisor.

Qualifications and Desired Experience

• Proven pharmacy technician experience, preferably within long-term care settings.
• Competence in preparing IV admixtures or sterile compounding is highly advantageous.
• Active Virginia Pharmacy Technician license is required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
