IV Sterile Compounding Mail Order Pharmacy Tech | Bedford, Virginia

This position offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled Pharmacy Technician to work in a Long Term Care (LTC) and Mail Order pharmacy environment. The role requires expertise in prescription filling, IV admixture preparation, and sterile compounding, supporting pharmacy operations under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately fill prescriptions and prepare intravenous admixtures (IVs) following established protocols.
• Collaborate with the Billing Supervisor to enter prescription data and facilitate reimbursement processes.
• Prepackage medications for dispensing in compliance with applicable standards and government regulations.
• Assist Pharmacists with final prescription checks, packaging, and coordinating timely delivery to customers.
• Support inventory management by receiving, rotating stock, posting lot numbers, expiration dates, and participating in physical inventory counts.
• Ensure workplace safety and cleanliness by maintaining equipment calibration and sanitation under the guidance of the Technician Supervisor.

Qualifications and Desired Experience

• Valid Virginia Pharmacy Technician license required.
• Proven experience as a Pharmacy Technician, preferably with exposure to Long Term Care pharmacy operations.
• Experience with preparation of IV admixtures and sterile compounding strongly preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, regulated pharmacy environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.

Schedule & Location

• Located in Bedford, VA.
• Contract to hire opportunity lasting approximately 13 weeks.
• Rotating shifts between 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM including weekends.
• Standard shifts include:
• 7:00 AM 3:30 PM
• 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
• 10:00 AM 6:30 PM
• 12:30 PM 9:00 PM
• Rotating weekends: 8:00 AM 7:00 PM
