Job description

We are looking for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to Sopra Steria Polska for a team that cooperates with one of our Norwegian clients.

Note that we can only offer cooperation to people are located in Silesian area and are willing to commute to our office in Katowice.

Responsibilities:​

  • Oracle database operations and general maintenance
  • Troubleshooting technical issues related to Oracle databases
  • Support the customer on technical issues
  • Support the customer on performance troubleshooting
  • Plan Oracle database installations
  • Plan and execute patching, migrations and upgrades
  • Collaborate across skills like network, virtualization and application management
  • Provides technical support to customers and end-users, ensuring high availability and optimal database performance through proactive maintenance and feature updates.

Must have requirements:​

  • Skilled with expertise in designing, deploying, and maintaining Oracle environments for scalability, reliability, and security Oracle: Certified Associate (DBA)
  • Experienced in implementing native SQL solutions for cloud platforms and hybrid infrastructures, including Azure, AWS, and on-premises environments
  • Proficient in planning and executing upgrade and migration strategies with minimal downtime, ensuring seamless transitions for mission-critical systems
  • Adept at troubleshooting complex Oracle issues, optimizing performance, and tuning queries to meet business requirements
  • Oracle: Certified Professional (DBA)
  • Microsoft AZ-104: Azure Administrator
  • ITIL Foundation or equivalent
  • HashiCorp Terraform Associate


Nice to have requirements:

  • GCP: Associate Data Practitioner
  • AWS Database Specialty
  • GitHub / GitLab Foundations

Other requirements:

  • English B2 level
  • Structured in operations and documentation 
  • Customer-oriented, ensuring stable and responsive end-user experience 
  • Team player, effective in cross-technology collaboration
  • Proactive in identifying performance improvements and capacity needs

The recruitment process for this position consists of two stages:
