About the Role: Join Lindell TV as a Multimedia Production Assistant & Video Editor for our Congressional Reporter, where you'll play a vital role in shaping engaging political content. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of media and politics in the heart of Washington, DC.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the production of multimedia content for our Congressional reporting team.
- Film and professionally edit video (interviews, pressers, stand-ups, B-roll, rapid-response clips) to create compelling content that resonates with our audience and meets quality standards and aligns with company guidelines.
- Manage and organize video files and assets efficiently.
- Turn around high-quality short-form content quickly—often within minutes—for maximum social media impact
- Prepare fully ready-to-publish content packages (final edits, captions, headline text, thumbnails, formatting, and platform-specific versions i.e. X, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, etc.)
- Conduct daily research on legislation, hearings, members of Congress, and breaking political news
- Proactively reach out to congressional offices to book interviews and coordinate logistics
- Brainstorm and execute editorial angles aligned with our conservative perspective
- Collaborate with reporters to develop creative concepts for video segments.
- Draft tight, fact-based editorial packages and on-camera scripts—often on short notice—to support daily coverage of breaking political news
- Serve as the reporter’s right-hand assistant—anticipate needs, manage logistics, and ensure nothing falls through the cracks
- Handle, transport, and set up camera/audio equipment throughout long days on Capitol Hill
- Support live streaming events and on-location shoots as needed. Requirements:
- Proven Video Skills: strong filming, video editing and multimedia production: fast, reliable, and detail-oriented under deadline pressure
- Technical Proficiency: Strong experience with editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve or similar, plus familiarity with modern short-form and AI-assisted tools -OpusClip or equivalent.
- Conservative Alignment: Strong understanding of conservative politics, messaging and the current media landscape
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Research and Outreach: Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable pitching, emailing, and calling congressional offices
- High Initiative: Self-starter who anticipates needs, solves problems, and thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Physical Readiness: Able to carry gear and stay on your feet for extended periods on Capitol Hill Preferred but not Required:
- Degree in Film, Media, Communications, or a related field
- Prior experience working on Capitol Hill or covering Congress
- Background in political media
- Existing relationships with congressional staff or press offices
