We collect data from physical production processes, generate a digital product passport with verified environmental data and make it usable along the value chain. WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
Your mission
Turn Emidat's verified environmental data into applications that make producing sustainable materials a business value. That means building a digital product passport platform that unlocks new market access, finding what drives recurring value on the platform, and figuring out what a sales persona actually needs from environmental data. This is Emidat's most explorative team, and the expectation is that the applications you build will seed entirely new product lines.
As a Senior Engineer on this team owns the full product loop. You don't implement specs handed to you; you're in discovery conversations, forming hypotheses, shipping, and measuring. High autonomy, high accountability.
In the first 6 months, you will
- Own core parts of the digital product passport platform: design, build, and ship the features that let manufacturers generate, manage, and share certified product data that unlocks real market access.
- Get in front of users: participate in discovery with commercial and sales teams, develop your own understanding of what makes environmental data useful in a sales context, and translate that into product.
- Contribute to finding what drives recurring value: instrument features, analyze usage, talk to users, and bring that signal back into how the team prioritizes.
- Raise the team's output through thorough code review and pairing with other engineers, contributing to a high technical bar on a team where the roadmap is still being written.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THIS ROLE
Minimum requirements
- 5+ years of professional Software Engineering experience, with strong proficiency in one or more high-level programming languages (e.g., Python, TypeScript, Go, or Rust).
- Experience driving new product initiatives for a B2B Software platform, building & bringing additional value for users / clients, showing strong product empathy and driving architectural and feature decisions based on product outcomes.
- Experienced working in a high-paced environment (i.e <200 people start-up,
- Demonstrated ability to take a feature from initial discovery and conceptualisation through development, deployment, and iterations with users customers.
- Experienced in leveraging AI tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) to accelerate development and increase code quality.
- Business-Fluent English (written and verbal) for internal and external communication.
- Experience translating high-level business problems or incomplete specifications into actionable development plans.
Nice to have’s
- Domain knowledge or professional exposure to adjacent sectors, such as Climate/Sustainability, Construction Tech, or Manufacturing.
- Hands-on familiarity with modern cloud infrastructure practices, including Infrastructure as Code (e.g., OpenTofu), container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), and defining automated deployment pipelines.
