Job description
The CP Coordinator I assist the principal Point-of-Contact for the acquisition, control and disposal of assets, including data, supplied to General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada by a client organization.
Auditing:
- Assist in the monitoring and conducting of bi-monthly GFA and GFI audits within the projects; this may include scanning the bar codes or other means of verification
- Assist with all stocktaking and Customer audits;
- Assist with the plan and host all Customer sponsored audits as detailed in Company Standard Procedures;
- Checks incoming and outgoing shipments to assure quality and accuracy.
Inventory Management:
- Assist with maintains internal databases to control the CP inventory and its dispersion within the Company and supporting companies
- Provide assistance to the CP Coordinator in the control, issue and maintenance of all Government/Contract furnished Assets (G/CFA) under the direction of the CP Coordinator.
- Assist the CP Coordinator with coordinating the request, receipt, distribution and control of all CP including Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), Government Furnished Information (GFI), Government Furnished Vehicles (GFV), Government Furnished Software Licenses, Contractor Furnished Equipment (CFE), Contractor Furnished Information (CFI), Contractor Furnished Vehicles (CFV) and Contractor Furnished Software Licenses.
Reporting:
- Prepare monthly Internal Program Review inventory reports;
- Reports all discrepancies to the CP Coordinator.
- Assist in the compiling and documenting of all transactions for data entry.
Customer Relations:
- Assist the CP Coordinator in meetings with internal and external participants;
- Function as a point of contact, both internal and external, for all CP loan and procurements request in the absence of the CP Coordinator. I.E. LEISC utilizes a customer SharePoint tool Project Management Information System (PMIS);
Support:
- Support the CP Coordinator with liaison with Engineering Departments, Project Management, Configuration Management, Contracts, Supply Chain Management and Vendors for GFA/CFA required by projects and subcontractors to ensure that it is obtained, tracked and monitored in accordance with company and program contract requirements.
- Perform other related duties as required
Education & Experience
- Equivalent to Ontario secondary school graduation plus two full-time years of formal education in relevant courses.
- A College diploma in a related discipline is considered equivalent education.
- Requires 1-2 years of related experience in inventory systems, materials management.
- Computer skills required: e.g. Excel, Word, Access, Project and Outlook.
- Experience dealing with Military would be considered an asset
Complexity
- Work is somewhat varied and can have some ambiguity, however, processes and procedures are established. At times, work may require resourcefulness and interpersonal skills to resolve concerns if non-routine in nature.
- Uses judgement and problem-solving skills to investigate and resolve issues: e.g. discrepancies in audit findings; database control, etc.
- Escalates to supervisor if assistance required. Assist with the preparation/ scheduling and conducting of external audits for DND or other customers.
- Researches and suggests methods for process improvement
Initiative and Accountability
- Work may be received via verbal or email requests as assigned by the CP Coordinator; The CP Coordinator I determines own prioritizes within stated schedules/timeframes.
- Assist with the scheduling and coordinating of audits for projects and customers.
- Accountable for the timely completion and quality of own work and assigned team.
- Responsible to safeguard people, equipment and property within stated guidelines in the completion of tasks.
- Investigates issues and assist the CP Coordinator with implementing corrective actions
- Maintains accurate audit record both internal and external;
- Under supervision identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate risks.
- Great concern for quality, accuracy and a sense of urgency.
Communication and Giving Guidance
- Good communication skills (written and verbal) are required for interaction with team members and internal / external customers.
- May need to travel to customer sites to assist with Sub – contractor audits
- Good customer (internal and external) focus.
- Ability to communicate in both French and English is a preference.
- Keeps POCs and supervisor informed of progress and situations requiring attention of others.
- Contributes ideas and recommendations to improve processes
- Good presentation and influencing skills.
- Able to build positive relationships and cross-functional partnerships.
Physical Effort
- Daily labour including lifting, carrying, handling materials. Limited requirement to manually move significant weight.
Sensory Effort
- Continuous periods of significant visual attention for reading, comparing, matching counting, data entry and proof-reading.
Working Environment
- Works with heavy equipment and assets regularly.
- Some exposure to dust/dirt and adverse weather conditions (loading docks, warehouse).
- Frequent interruptions to respond to team members and customers.
- Able to handle multiple priorities and tasks.
It is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements, including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance. Applicants may be required to meet additional security requirements in order to gain access to technical data, classified areas or information that is subject to international regulations. You must be eligible to work in Canada.

This position supports a 40 hour workweek.
