We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pipe Welder to join our construction and manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and welding pipe systems in accordance with project specifications and safety standards. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing advanced welding techniques and mechanical skills to deliver high-quality piping solutions. The ideal candidate will bring construction site experience, proficiency in various welding methods, and a strong understanding of blueprint reading and fabrication processes.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret detailed schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure precise pipe fabrication and installation.
- Perform MIG, TIG, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and other welding techniques suitable for welding applications.
- Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and sheet metal tools to cut, shape, and assemble piping components.
- Operate plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment to meet project specifications.
- Execute pipe threading, soldering, and assembly tasks adhering to ASME codes & standards.
- Conduct quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, and schematics to verify dimensions and weld integrity.
- Manage rigging and crane operations safely during pipe installation on construction sites.
- Maintain a clean work environment by properly handling materials such as ductwork and sheet metal.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure project timelines are met while maintaining safety protocols.
- Support fabrication of mechanical systems including ductwork, pipe systems, and related assemblies.
Experience
- Proven construction site experience with a focus on pipe welding or related fabrication roles.
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG, FCAW welding techniques; experience with welding preferred.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings essential for accurate fabrication.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, plasma cutting equipment, press brake machines, and machining tools.
- Knowledge of ASME codes & standards applicable to pipe welding and fabrication projects.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements and material estimations.
- Mechanical knowledge related to pipe threading, soldering, assembly, rigging operations, and mechanical systems.
- Experience working with manufacturing or construction teams in dynamic environments involving scaffolding or crane operations.
