Role Summary And Impact:
We are looking for an Associate Manager, Planning (Ecommerce) to lead ecommerce planning and drive integrated platform growth strategies across key online channels. This role will play an important part in translating business objectives into clear ecommerce plans, identifying growth opportunities, and managing strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of relevant experience in ecommerce, possesses a solid understanding of ecommerce platform operations and solutions, and is confident in managing cross-functional teams, platform partners, and client conversations to deliver strong business outcomes.
1. Ecommerce Planning & Strategy
- Lead the development of ecommerce strategies and annual / quarterly plans aligned with business objectives and growth priorities.
- Translate client and business needs into actionable ecommerce recommendations across platforms, portfolios, campaigns, and key commercial moments.
- Identify growth opportunities by analyzing platform dynamics, shopper behavior, category trends, and competitive activity.
- Build clear planning frameworks covering traffic, conversion, buyer growth, promotional strategy, and overall business performance.
- Provide strategic recommendations to improve ecommerce effectiveness, efficiency, and long-term scalability.
2. Business Performance Management
- Monitor and evaluate ecommerce performance across platforms, campaigns, and business initiatives.
- Analyze key metrics such as GMV, ROAS, traffic, conversion, AOV, buyer recruitment, and retention to generate actionable insights.
- Develop regular business reviews, performance updates, and learning agendas for internal teams and clients.
- Support forecasting, target setting, budget tracking, and post-campaign evaluation.
3. Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as a key contact point for clients in day-to-day planning, performance discussions, and business recommendations.
- Build strong and trusted relationships with clients through proactive communication, responsiveness, and solution-oriented thinking.
- Manage multiple stakeholders across internal teams, ecommerce platforms, media partners, and external vendors to ensure alignment and smooth execution.
- Handle business challenges with a collaborative mindset and drive issues toward clear resolution.
4. Platform & Solution Management
- Maintain a strong understanding of how major ecommerce platforms operate, including their commercial mechanics, performance levers, and media ecosystems.
- Apply knowledge of onsite, offsite, and affiliate solutions to shape strategic recommendations and support business growth.
- Work closely with platform and partner teams to align plans, unlock opportunities, and ensure campaigns are executed effectively.
- Stay updated on platform developments, new solutions, and market best practices to continuously improve planning quality.
5. Project Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Manage multiple projects, timelines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams including media, content, analytics, operations, and commercial stakeholders.
- Ensure deliverables are completed accurately, on time, and with strong attention to detail.
- Proactively identify risks, gaps, and dependencies, and drive follow-up actions to resolution.
6. Market & Competitive Intelligence
- Monitor ecommerce trends, competitor activities, pricing dynamics, and platform developments to strengthen planning recommendations.
- Use market and category insights to support strategic decision-making and identify whitespace opportunities.
- Share relevant learnings with internal teams and clients to improve business planning and execution
Skills and Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in ecommerce, digital commerce, ecommerce media, marketplace, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of ecommerce platforms and how they operate, especially major marketplaces such as Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop.
- Good knowledge of onsite, offsite, and affiliate solutions within ecommerce ecosystems.
- Strong planning capability, with the ability to turn business goals into structured ecommerce strategies and action plans.
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and maintain strong client relationships.
- Strong analytical skills and confidence in interpreting data to generate business insights and recommendations.
- Good project management skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
- Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and solution-driven mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an agency, ecommerce enabler, platform, or brand-side ecommerce function.
- Experience in client servicing and cross-functional stakeholder management.
- Familiarity with ecommerce performance reporting, business reviews, and planning frameworks.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration across teams.
