Advanced RN ECMO, 7p-7a

Responsibilities The Advanced RN ECMO provides specialized care while maintaining and performing all duties related to the care of the ECMO patient in a needs-based, neonatal, pediatric or adult critical care setting as determined by the Coord or Manager, ECMO. While operating as a practitioner, this individual is responsible for the care of a patient on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation. Adheres to Norton Healthcare ECMO/Mechanical Circulatory guidelines and protocols. Serves as a member of the patient care team to assess, develop care plans, and act as a clinical resource for all providers. Provides patient and family support and education as needed. Participates in performance improvement projects and participates in quarterly education and simulation opportunities. Identifies problems and recommends ideas and solutions. Utilizes critical thinking skills and demonstrates the ability to make independent decisions in emergencies.
