What We Offer Novant Health is seeking a Clinical Exercise Physiologist. The Clinical Exercise Physiologist – Registered is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized exercise programs for patients with cardiovascular, pulmonary, metabolic, and other chronic conditions. This role supports patients across the continuum of care and works closely with a multidisciplinary team to improve functional capacity, health outcomes, and overall quality of life. What You'll Do Monitor patients during exercise sessions, including vital signs, telemetry (if applicable), and response to activity Educate patients on lifestyle modifications, including exercise, nutrition, and disease management Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care plans Document patient assessments, progress, and outcomes in the electronic medical record (EMR) Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements What We're Looking For Education: Graduate Degree, required. Master's degree in Exercise and Sports Science or Exercise Physiology, required. Experience: Minimum of one year hospital, clinic, or rehabilitation experience as an Exercise Physiologist; preferred. Licensure/Certification: ACSM Certification in Clinical Exercise Physiology within 6 months of hire (Certification Agreement signed upon hire), required. Additional Skills Required: Practical and theoretical knowledge of all phases of routine and critical cardiac and respiratory care, with an emphasis on adult, chronic disease management. Abilities to perform decisively in critical situations and to incorporate many types of data. Has the knowledge, skills and ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. Has the ability to supervise exercise, monitor patients during exercise, and modify exercise prescriptions for cardio-pulmonary patients, in conjunction with registered nurses and/or physician as needed. Has effective communication and interpersonal skills to relate to patients, families, nurses, physicians and other department and hospital staff.
