Summary
This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Security, Facilities and Logistics Operations(OSFLO), Security Management Group (SMG), Division of Physical Security Operations (DPSO).
As a Supervisory Physical Security Specialist, GS-0080-14, you will serve as the Deputy Division Director, technical expert, and advisor to CMS leadership on all elements of physical security operations.

Duties
Help
- Direct and administer CMS nationwide programs for physical security, access management and electronic security systems, including security assessments, physical access control systems, and video surveillance systems.
- Identify, develop, and implement physical security and access management program requirements for the agency nationwide.
- Establish policies and procedures, develop standards, and approve recommendations for improvement in physical security systems for all CMS components as well as Federal civilian partners ensuring compliance.
- Establish and implement occupant emergency standards for national response and protections.
- Through coordination with the Division Director, plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work. Requirements

In order to qualify for the GS-14 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1) Analyzing and resolving security problems dealing with policies or security programs; AND 2) Developing or implementing security policies and programs for a variety of security disciplines (i.e. credentialing, access control, and fraud); AND 3) Managing comprehensive physical security and occupant emergency programs, including oversight of contract operations and budget administration.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current or former Federal employees and current or former Federal employees applying under the VEOA eligibility who hold or have held a permanent General Schedule position in the previous year must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
