Senior React and AI Engineer

Full Stack React Developer (with focus on AI integrations)

This is a hybrid remote position requiring 2 days per week onsite in our Fairfax, Virginia office.

Long-term 5 year project.

Position Summary.

• We are seeking an experienced Full Stack AI and React Developer to lead the development and integration of cutting edge AI Agents, Agentic Workflows and Generative AI services into Front-End React applications.
• In addition to strong React development skills, this role requires proficiency in Python, FastAPI, Gen AI Patterns, Prompt Engineering, Large Language Models (LLMs), RAG and related AI technologies.
• Candidate work alongside full stack developers, UX designers, product managers and data engineers to shape and implement enterprise-grade Gen AI solutions.

This position REQUIRES the candidate to be either a U.S. Citizen, or green card holder having lived in the U.S. continuously for more than 5 years. (no H1B or H4 visa). - If you do not meet this requirement, do not apply. We cannot hire you for this position.

Core Responsibilities

React Development

• Develop and maintain React single-page applications and integrations with Python backends to integrate cutting edge AI Agents, Agentic Workflows and Gen AI services
• Implement high-performance UI patterns for real-time AI streaming (Server-Sent Events) to ensure a fluid, responsive user experience.
• Design and implement UI components for Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), allowing users to query mission-critical documentation with grounded citations.

Gen AI/ML Development and Integration

• Architect and implement scalable AI Agents, Agentic Workflows and GenAI applications to address diverse and complex business use cases.
• Integrate GenAI solutions with enterprise platforms via FastAPI and REST API based methods and GenAI standardized patterns.
• Architect, design, develop, and deploy Python microservices and APIs within an event-driven, cloud-native ecosystem.
• Design and deploy RetrievalAugmented Generation (RAG) and Graph RAG systems using vector databases and knowledge bases.
• Build and maintain Jupyterbased notebooks using platforms like SageMaker and MLFlow/Kubeflow on Kubernetes (EKS).
• Establish and enforce validation procedures with Evaluation Frameworks, bias mitigation, safety protocols, and guardrails for productionready deployment.
• Design & build robust ingestion pipelines that extract, chunk, enrich, and anonymize data from PDFs, video, and audio sources for use in LLMpowered workflows—leveraging best practices like semantic chunking and privacy controls
• Orchestrate multimodal pipelines using scalable frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, PySpark) for automated ETL/ELT workflows appropriate for unstructured media
• Implement embeddings drives—map media content to vector representations using embedding models, and integrate with vector stores to support RAG architectures

Required Technical Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 6 to 10 years of relevant experience or Masters Degree and 4 to 8 years.
• 2+ years of experience in machine learning, data science, or AI engineering.
• Proven experience integrating frontend applications with AI services (Google Vertex AI, OpenAI, or Azure OpenAI).
• Hands-on experience with LLMs (e.g., VertexAI, OpenAI, Anthropic) and prompt engineering.
• Strong Python development skills including: Building CLIs, automation scripts, and service backends (e.g., FastAPI)
• Strong programming skills in Single Page Applications (ReactJS, JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, HTML)
• Strong understanding of React UI performance optimization techniques, such as code splitting, lazy loading, and caching
• Experience with building and consuming FastAPI, RESTful APIs and integrating them with UI components
• Excellent knowledge of data modeling, relational and nosql databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle)
• Highly motivated and self-driven professional
• Strong hands-on technical skills with modern technologies
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• 2+ years of experience with Agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban
• 2+ years of experience using task management software such as Jira

Additional Desired Skills

• Strong programming skills in GO
• Experience with Django, FastAPI
• Experience implementing solutions leveraging MCP (Model Context Protocol) and A2A (Agentto-Agent) communication.
• Knowledge of AI UX Best Practices (handling hallucinations, human-in-the-loop validation).
• Experience with Vector & Graph Visualization (D3.js, Recharts) for AI-driven data relationships.
• Experience with Google Cloud (GCP)
• Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
• Experience with event streaming and messaging patterns.
• Experience in "Contract-First" development.
• Prior experience building large, complex federal data-entry systems.
