Job description
We work together. Your team and the people you will work with...
Partnering with Service Delivery, Finance, Product and Engineering leadership, you'll align investments with strategic priorities and enable UW to make informed, fact-based decisions. You'll manage the portfolio of programmes, projects, and initiatives that help us to prioritise and optimise our technology investment portfolio.
We deliver progress. What you’ll do and how you will make an impact...
You’ll be the person who keeps our tech investment on track. You’ll manage the governance, analysis, and insight needed to make sure every pound we spend is working hard for the business. Your day-to-day will involve:
- Maintaining a transparent view of the entire Technology portfolio, tracking all CAPEX and OPEX work.
- Designing and embedding frameworks and reporting tools to keep an eye on performance and spending.
- Leading the charge on CAPEX vs OPEX classification, making sure everyone understands the "why" behind the numbers.
- Providing the insights that help leadership decide which projects to start, stop, or hit pause on.
- Supporting business cases to ensure they are accurate, consistent, and offer genuine value for money.
- Managing R&D tax claims for the Product and Technology teams.
- Creating a smooth reporting cadence, turning complex project updates into simple, punchy executive reports.
- Spotting dependencies and risks across teams before they become real gremlins.
- Exploring new digital tools to make our portfolio operations even more efficient and transparent.

- Holiday: 25 days plus bank holidays (increasing with tenure), with the option to trade up to five days each year.
