Hybrid Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly disciplined and experienced Software Engineer to join a mission-critical development team. This role requires deep expertise in DO-178C Design Assurance Level A (DAL A) processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the full software development lifecycle, applying mathematical and logical solutions to complex operational requirements while adhering to the strictest industry standards for safety and reliability.

Schedule: Hybrid work model.

Onsite Requirement: 2 days per week onsite following the initial onboarding/training period.

Key Responsibilities

• Software Development Lifecycle: Plans, conducts, and coordinates all phases of software development activities from requirements analysis through design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Design & Architecture: Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that applies logical and mathematical solutions to complex business/mission challenges.
• Standards Compliance (Critical): Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle, with a strict focus on DO-178C DAL A compliance.
• Technical Analysis: Applies comprehensive knowledge of computer hardware, software subject matter, and information processing techniques to develop effective solutions.
• User Collaboration: Works directly with system users to gather and interpret requirements regarding program intent, output requirements, and input data acquisition.
• Verification & Validation: Corrects program errors, analyzes system capabilities, and ensures software behavior meets the defined intent and controls.
• Documentation: Compiles thorough documentation of program development and prepares detailed operating instructions to ensure long-term maintainability and audit readiness.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Mandatory Compliance Experience: Demonstrated experience with DO-178C DAL A software development and certification processes. (Note: Candidates without explicit DAL A experience will not be considered for this role.)
• Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of computer hardware/software interaction and experience with subject matter relevant to [e.g., Avionics, Flight Controls, Mission Systems].
• Analytical Mindset: Ability to translate complex business/mission problems into mathematical and logical software solutions.
• Debugging & Problem Solving: Proven experience in troubleshooting, correcting program errors, and optimizing system performance.
• Documentation: Meticulous attention to detail regarding software standards, traceability, and technical documentation.
