As a SysOps engineer within .Monks, you will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and ongoing operation of computer systems and cloud platforms. Working as part of the SysOps IT team, your observations and input will help drive the evolution of tech administration within our company as we look to establish stronger policies, more security, better organization, and enhanced efficiency. As the IT, and especially AI needs of the company continue to grow, you will have the opportunity to learn new technologies and propose projects. Automating IT tasks will be a focus.
This role is well-suited for those who are self-sufficient, dependable, looking for new challenges, and are interested in expanding their skillset.
Please note that this role is intended to be a partial in-office position. Working from home part time, but also hands-on work in our Noida/Gurugram locations.
Responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring & Optimization: Use system-agnostic monitoring tools to monitor system health and performance metrics, proactively identifying and resolving issues to prevent downtime.
- Automation: Use scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools to automate operational tasks and deployment processes.
- Security & Compliance: Implement security measures and best practices to protect data and systems, ensuring compliance with federal or industry standards.
- Maintenance & Support: Handle routine system maintenance, software upgrades, kernel patching, and incident management.
- Disaster Recovery: Manage backups, recovery tests, and business continuity plans to maintain high availability.
- Collaboration: Work closely with InfoSec, Networking and general IT support teams.
Qualifications/Background Sought:
- Typically 4-6+ years in systems administration or a similar operational role.
- Experience running audits/reports and presenting findings.
- Familiarity with at least one scripting language
- Experience in admin consoles of modern platforms; ideal technical knowledge includes administration experience with some of the following:
- Cloud-Based Business Platforms: Atlassian, Google Workspace, Slack Enterprise Grid, Microsoft365/Azure.
- OS: Windows server, Linux
- Networking Hardware: Fortinet, Ubiquiti
- Identity & Endpoint Management with OneLogin, Jamf, Intune, and A1.
- Bonus points for experience with automation or APIs
- Flexibility in working hours
- Exhibits patience and resilience under pressure
- Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills
- Strong verbal & written communication skills
- Self-sufficient, proactive, and ready for a challenge
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly to new technologies.
