Job description

CNC Machinists (Grinders and EDM Operators) required for Weekend Night Shift – 17:45 – 05:45 (Fri–Sun) to join a well-established, growing manufacturer supplying high-precision components to the aerospace and power generation industries. We’ve partnered with this business for over 20 years, and they’re known for their excellent working environment, strong leadership, and long-term career prospects. The role You’ll operate CNC machinery to produce high-quality, precision components, ensuring all work meets strict quality and customer standards. Key responsibilities include: Operating CNC 3-axis, 5-axis and 7-axis Grinding Machines, ensuring that parts are machined in accordance with the agreed method specification.. Attain machine setting skills to enable machine set ups in line with Company requirements Understanding of engineering drawings, ensuring that fixtures are correctly aligned. Inspecting parts in line with quality procedures and taking any necessary, approved, action to resolve quality issues Operating CMM machines to support inspection requirement. Consistently achieving all targets (production, quality, housekeeping etc), as set by the Cell Manager Adherence to all company policy’s and procedures, including SOX, Code of Conduct and Health and Safety. Working in full compliance with quality, safety and company procedures Desirables: ·Previous experience in CNC Grinding or EDM is advantageous but not essential. ·Experience within an Aerospace sector is advantageous. ·Positive attitude and a keenness to learn. ·Experience with CNC programme editing or basic G code adjustments. ·Strong attention to detail. ·Ability to work independently with minimal supervision ·Strong problem solving mindset. Requirements for the position of the CNC Operator: ·Demonstrated experience in CNC machining and/or a strong academic background in engineering, ideally supported by a recognised machining apprenticeship. ·Previous experience working with metal components. ·Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. ·Proficient in conducting self-inspection of machined components using manual measurement tools.
