Job Title: Content & Public Relations (PR) Executive Department: Fifth Ring Reporting to: PR & Crisis Comms Manager Location: Aberdeen, UK Ways of Working: Hybrid Contract Type: Permanent Fifth Ring, part of DC Thomson media company, are currently recruiting for a Content & Public Relations (PR) Executive to join our growing team in Aberdeen. The Content and PR Executive plays a key role in the execution and optimisation of content and communications activity across digital and PR channels. Supporting the delivery of high-quality client work, this role contributes to the planning, coordination, implementation and reporting of content and media activity. The Content & PR Executive will work on a variety of tasks such as building reports, audit checks, and forward features lists. They will engage with media journalists to follow up on press releases and reports. The successful candidate will schedule organic social posts as well as drafting and creating engaging content for release. This is a great opportunity for a Content & PR Executive who is eager to learn from others, work with global clients across Europe, USA and Asia with an agency that utilises emerging technologies in the industry. Over time, the successful candidate can develop into a PR Executive with responsibility for media relations and content creation, or a Content Executive specialising in digital content and performance. Key Responsibilities Client Compile coverage reports and maintain accurate tracking of media activity Research, build, and maintain targeted media lists, identifying relevant journalists, outlets and contacts Format and distribute press releases, ensuring accuracy and consistency Support research for forward features, media opportunities and event or speaker placements across clients Draft basic PR and editorial content with support, including press releases and feature pitches Schedule, publish, and manage content across digital platforms Support content calendar management to ensure timely and consistent delivery Repurpose content into multiple formats to maximise reach and effectiveness Monitor organic content performance and highlight key trends or insights Upload, update, and maintain website content via CMS (including pages, blogs and edits) Ensure all content meets quality standards, including formatting, linking and basic SEO best practice Support website migrations through content population and updates Assist with content audits and maintain accuracy across large datasets Company Ensure that products and services are delivered on time and within budget Be a robust defender of the agency’s values, people and commercial interests Ensure Fifth Ring processes and procedures are followed at all times Colleagues Provide administrative and day-to-day support to PR and content team members as required Provide updates to colleagues, ensuring clear communication Build effective relationships with other departments within the organisation, to ensure alignment on client projects
