Job description

Who We Are Fueled by passion, KAYALI was founded in 2018 by beauty mogul and fragrance fanatic, Mona Kattan. Translating to ‘my imagination' in Arabic, KAYALI provides a modern fragrance experience inspired by Mona's rich Middle Eastern heritage and the art of layering scents to help you create your mood; where sharing scents is a ritual and smelling good is both an act of goodwill and self-love. Mona collaborates with some of the world's most renowned perfumers and sources the finest ingredients to create unique juices that are infinitely memorable, long-lasting, and cruelty-free. Each luxurious fragrance is an ode to true craftsmanship and tells a special story, from the addictive notes to the multi-faceted jeweled bottles. Our Mission To make everyone feel like the diamond they are! To build a global community of fragrance lovers through the power of scent and by providing them with the most innovative & luxurious fragrances, education and sharing our Middle Eastern fragrance rituals with the world. Summary At KAYALI, sustainability is a natural extension of caring for magic makers, communities, and the planet, while building a bold, future-ready luxury fragrance brand. The Sustainability Manager will translate global sustainability best practices into a company-wide strategy implemented via a pragmatic roadmap tailored to a fast-growing, creative, and commercially driven environment. The Sustainability Manager at KAYALI will lead the brand’s environmental and social sustainability agenda, closely partnering across markets and functions to turn ambition into measurable, meaningful impact. This role reframes the previous ESG scope with a stronger focus on environmental footprint, responsible sourcing, circularity, and people-centric initiatives, while still upholding high standards of governance and ethics. 1. Sustainability Strategy & Roadmap Design and own KAYALI’s sustainability strategy and multi-year implementation roadmap, with clear priorities across environmental impact, social responsibility, and responsible business practices. Define, track and monitor/report sustainability KPIs (e.g., emissions, consumption, waste, sustainable materials, community impact) aligned to brand, investor, and regulatory expectations. Embed sustainability objectives into business planning, new product development, and market expansion decisions. 2. Environmental Footprint & Circularity Measure and monitor KAYALI’s environmental footprint across operations and value chain, focusing on energy, emissions, water, waste, and packaging. Partner with product, packaging, supply chain, and retail teams to reduce impact through greener materials, more efficient logistics, and circular solutions (e.g., recyclability, refills where relevant). Support assessment of certifications, standards, or partnerships that credibly reinforce KAYALI’s sustainability story. 3. Responsible Sourcing & Supply Chain Develop and maintain sustainability and ethical standards for suppliers, manufacturers, and partners (e.g., responsible sourcing, labor practices, transparency expectations). Collaborate with Procurement and Operations to integrate sustainability criteria into vendor selection, contracts, and ongoing performance reviews. Support supplier engagement, from capacity-building to data collection, ensuring KAYALI’s expectations are understood and met. 4. People, Community & Social Impact Partner with People & Culture to connect sustainability with wellness, inclusion, volunteering, and community initiatives for KAYALI magic makers. Co-create programs that empower teams to contribute to sustainability goals (e.g., green office initiatives, volunteering days, internal challenges). Work with Brand, PR, and Partnerships to ensure external storytelling on social impact and philanthropy is authentic, responsible, and aligned with action. 5. Measurement, Reporting & Governance Build simple, reliable processes for collecting and analysing sustainability data across teams and regions, using dashboards or tools where relevant. Prepare annual sustainability updates and board/investor materials, sharing progress, risks, and opportunities in clear, compelling language. Stay informed on key sustainability regulations and trends in priority markets (UAE, UK, US), and translate them into practical guidance for the business. 6. Culture, Training & Change Enablement Design and deliver sustainability awareness and capability-building sessions for teams (e.g., product, marketing, retail, office teams), making the topic accessible and inspiring. Partner with L&D to embed sustainability into onboarding, leadership pathways, and learning journeys so it becomes part of “the KAYALI way”. Celebrate wins, spotlight internal champions, and share stories that bring sustainability to life across the organisation

5–8 years’ experience in sustainability, environmental management, or related fields, ideally within consumer, beauty, luxury, retail, or FMCG environments. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, Business, Supply Chain); advanced study or certifications in sustainability or climate are a plus. Demonstrated experience designing and implementing sustainability strategies, programs, or frameworks in a corporate or consultancy context. Familiarity with core sustainability topics: climate and carbon, sustainable packaging, responsible sourcing, circularity, and social impact. Comfortable working with AI, data, metrics, and reporting, including building basic dashboards and tracking progress against targets. Skills & Personal Attributes Strategic and pragmatic thinker who can connect sustainability with brand equity, customer expectations, and commercial outcomes. Strong project management and stakeholder skills, able to drive cross-functional initiatives across time zones in a fast-paced, scaling business. Excellent communicator and storyteller who can simplify complex concepts and inspire action at all levels. Naturally curious, kind, and collaborative, with a Kaizen mindset and a love for continuous improvement. Bold and hungry change agent, energized by building and shaping something from the ground up in a high-growth, creative brand.
