Job description

Overview Medical Assistant Lead This Medical Assistant Lead position supports one assigned Advanced Practice Provider (APP) at 0.6 FTE through direct patient rooming and clinical workflow tasks and performs supervisory/lead responsibilities at 0.4 FTE. The role assists the Supervisor/Manager of Medical Assistants in coordinating operations, maintaining efficient patient flow, and supporting Medical Assistant staff through scheduling, training, and daily workflow oversight. The general pay scale for this position at WVCI is $20.00-$34.03 The actual hiring rate is dependent on many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experience, education, job/position responsibilities, location, work performance, internal equity, etc. Employment Type : Full Time, 1.0 FTE Benefits : M/D/V, Life Ins., 401(k) Location : Springfield, Oregon Responsibilities APP Support & Direct Patient Care (0.6 FTE) Rooms and supports a single assigned APP, providing consistent daily clinical assistance. Escorts patients to and from exam rooms. Records patient data prior to visits, including vital signs, allergies, and medication updates. Obtains necessary patient records and confirms consent forms prior to treatment. Assists the APP with exams and procedures as requested. Provides delegated patient education and distributes educational materials. Other duties as assigned. Leadership, Coordination & Operational Duties (0.4 FTE) Assists in supervision of Medical Assistants and other non鈥憀icensed patient care providers. Creates weekly MA schedules. Receives team member call outs and arranges daily coverage as needed. Completes whiteboard room assignments each morning at the assigned clinic. Provides ongoing training and workflow updates to current MA staff. Supports onboarding and training of new team members. Completes MA competencies in collaboration with the supervisor/manager. Serves as backup for FMLA and/or Referral Coordination when pulled into staff duties. Pulled to staff as needed to room for providers or cover other departments. Orders supplies for the RB and CC clinics. Checks expiration dates on all supplies and maintains compliance logs. Stocks exam/treatment rooms and ensures readiness for daily operations. Monitors daily work queues including the Order queue, Ontada queue, Chart Messages, Canopy, and returned order fax folders. Supports imaging follow鈥憉p and assists with resolving workflow or documentation issues. Obtains outside medical records, labs, imaging, and other required documentation. Maintains patient files. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent. Minimum five years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant in a hospital or clinic setting. Certified Medical Assistant or able to get certification withihn 3 months of hire. Current CPR certification required. Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants strongly preferred.
