Join our team as an RN on the Pediatric Med/Surg IMC unit at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital! The Pediatric Med/Surg IMC unit (Unit 6) provides care to pediatric cardiac, solid organ (heart) transplant, infectious disease, CF, pulmonary, general medical/surgical, ENT, trauma, and orthopedic patients and their families. We have 24 beds on the unit and patients range from infants to young adults. The challenge of critical care nursing is best experienced in this intermediate care unit (IMC) where nurses care for patients with complex, multi-system health issues. Schedule: This position will be working 60 hours every two weeks on the Night shift, 12-hour shifts, every third weekend. The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate. Provides complex care to pediatric patient/families Performs advanced monitoring using current technology. Manages sophisticated medication and infusion therapies Cares for patient undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures/interventions on the unit. Demonstrates ability to safely and accurately operate unit equipment.
