The role / impact
As a Global Benefits Program Manager, you will own the end-to-end delivery and execution of our benefits programs across the U.S., EMEA, and APAC regions. This involves translating strategy into action, ensuring all offerings are delivered accurately and at scale while holding vendors and brokers to high standards.
As the primary owner of day-to-day operations, you will partner closely with global brokers, external vendors, and internal teams to drive seamless execution. Your work will directly shape an exceptional employee experience by ensuring our offerings remain competitive, compliant, and accessible.
The team / how they connect
The Benefits team is responsible for designing, managing, and supporting the offerings that employees rely on for their health, financial wellbeing, leave, and protection. We work as a highly visible, coordinated group to ensure all provisions are cost-effective and easy to use. You will collaborate closely with the Director of Global Benefits, the Global Benefits Advisor, and cross-functional partners in Compensation, People Systems, Payroll, Legal, and Finance.
The team is currently working on / Initially, you will focus on
- Managing the migration to Workday for benefits configuration and carrier integrations.
- Creating comprehensive playbooks and self-serve processes for the People Experience teams.
- Assisting with the launch of an AI-powered benefits application to automate and improve employee support.
Where and how you can work
We offer a flexible hybrid working model, ideally seeking someone based in Pacific Time who can commute to our San Mateo office once or twice a month for collaborative boost days. You will have the balance of working from home while staying connected with our global teams across various time zones.
Here are some of the things we are looking for
- You will bring expertise in managing global benefits programs, particularly across the U.S. and preferably APAC and EMEA markets.
- Your background includes strong HRIS proficiency, specifically with Workday benefits configuration and integrations.
- A proven ability to own renewals, manage vendor relationships, and deliver high-quality outcomes comes naturally to you.
- You possess strong communication skills, allowing you to effectively partner with stakeholders and hold external brokers accountable.
- A growth mindset helps you adapt quickly to a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities across different regions.
- You offer a strong sense of ownership and an open mind, particularly when navigating complex compliance and regulatory requirements.

The expected base salary range for this role in
- California: $127,400 - $191,000 USD
Individual pay is determined by various factors, including geography, level of experience, and the specific skills you bring to the role.
In addition to base pay, Xero’s roles are eligible for the following forms of variable compensation:
- Variable Pay: Permanent employees are eligible to participate in our annual bonus and equity (RSU) programs. You may also be eligible for performance-based cash or equity (RSUs) incentives depending on your role level, and company performance.
