Are you passionate about electrical design and drafting? Do you have a knack for solving complex electrical problems in the construction industry? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are seeking a Permanent Electrical Designer/Drafter with a solid background in industrial and commercial projects. You will be a key player in our dynamic, multi-disciplinary team, responsible for the design and drafting of electrical systems for high performance buildings. Responsibilities

As an Electrical Designer/Drafter, your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and drafting electrical systems for industrial and commercial buildings, including lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, and security systems.
• Performing complex electrical calculations such as load balancing, voltage drop, and sub-bank calculations.
• Designing and specifying electrical conduits, wiring, and other components in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Collaborating with architects, engineers, and other project team members to integrate electrical systems into overall building design.
• Reviewing and revising designs and drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Coordinating with contractors and suppliers to ensure the correct installation and operation of electrical systems.
• Providing technical support and troubleshooting for electrical systems during construction and post-occupancy phases.
• Continually updating knowledge of new technologies and industry trends to ensure our designs are cutting-edge and sustainable.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position will have

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design and drafting, specifically in the construction industry.
• Proficiency in using CAD software for electrical design and drafting.
• In-depth knowledge of NEC Code and other relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Experience with designing electrical systems for high performance buildings.
• Familiarity with plumbing and mechanical systems, as they relate to electrical design.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with the ability to perform complex electrical calculations.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to anticipate and address potential issues before they arise.
• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
