We're looking for a passionate Backend (Java API) Intern to play a key role in shaping the future of banking products and services through cutting-edge technologies. What will you contribute? (Responsibility) Design, build, test, and observe production-grade banking features in real environments. Apply Spring Boot patterns, REST API design , professional SQL practices , and practical Java craftsmanship. Navigate the full delivery lifecycle - moving your changes through SIT → UAT → Production with mentor support. Work with microservices and messaging concepts across a platform running 100+ services : service boundaries, contracts, and reliability patterns. Use modern engineering workflows: Git , PR reviews , basic CI/CD , documentation habits , and AI-augmented tools for research, prototyping, refactoring, and test generation. Collaborate in Agile ceremonies - planning, refinement, demos, and retros - with cross-functional partners. Apply AWS fundamentals in real deployment and observability contexts.

Must-have: Pursuing or recently completed/graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Curious, open to feedback, and eager to learn complex domains (payments, accounts, risk, lending, etc). Disciplined and detail-oriented, keeping the bigger-picture system in mind. Clear communicator; collaborative and respectful teammate. Strong OOP foundations (encapsulation, inheritance, polymorphism, abstraction; interface-driven design), with practical use of Collections, Generics, Stream API , and error handling patterns in Java. Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms with practical backend application; basic system design literacy across services, APIs, data stores, reliability, and observability — with clean code and readable design as default habits. Working knowledge of REST principles (resources, methods, status codes, idempotency, error handling), basic Spring Boot (controllers, configuration, dependency injection), and SQL fundamentals (queries, joins, constraints, basic indexing). Proficient with Git (branching, meaningful commits, pull requests); familiar with unit testing basics, logging, and reading service metrics. Routinely uses AI tools to learn, explore options, scaffold, and refactor — with the ability to write clear, context-rich prompts and iterate on results. Nice to have: Projects demonstrating Java/Spring Boot backends, tests, and documentation (GitHub links encouraged). Docker basics; awareness of cloud environments and CI/CD workflows. Exposure to messaging (e.g., Kafka), event-driven design, or transactional outbox patterns.
