Job description

We’re looking for a video editor with strong taste to edit a short-form video for a jewelry brand campaign.

This project is centered around a “by the beach” concept—quiet beach moments, friendship, and noticing small, meaningful details.

Concept

A woman at the beach speaking directly to her friend, as if:

  • she’s on FaceTime
  • or recording a personal home video

Dialogue is casual and conversational (e.g. “are you gonna be late again?”)

We’ll intercut this with

  • beach textures (water, sand, movement)
  • candid walking moments
  • close-ups of jewelry (necklace, earrings)

The final video should feel like a real memory, not an ad.

Editing Style

We’re looking for a blend of

  • 90s home video / camcorder aesthetic
  • modern, mobile-native pacing

Key direction

  • Natural, unscripted feel
  • Slight grain/texture (subtle, not heavy)
  • Simple cuts (no over-editing)
  • Let moments breathe

Avoid

  • Overuse of VHS effects or glitches
  • Trendy/social-heavy edits
  • Anything that feels overly polished or commercial

Deliverables

  • 1 x primary video (15–30 seconds)
  • Vertical format (9:16)
  • Potential for additional cutdowns if this goes well

Footage Provided

  • Talent speaking directly to camera
  • Beach lifestyle footage
  • Product close-ups
  • Environmental shots (water, sand, light)

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong editorial judgment (most important)
  • Experience with lo-fi / nostalgic editing
  • Ability to create something that feels personal and emotionally grounded

To Apply

Please include

  • 2–3 relevant samples (especially lo-fi, nostalgic, or lifestyle work)
  • A quick note on how you’d approach this style

Note: We care more about restraint and storytelling than effects. The goal is something that feels real and lived-in.
